Ruth Hargest
Ruth is best known as a photographer specialising in views of mid-Wales. Ruth has photographed her local area for over twenty years. The beauty of Mid Wales has inspired her since childhood. After studying and teaching geography Ruth's interest in this area, and her natural talent prompted her to become a photographer and painter. She is a member of the well-established group of Marcher Artists and designer/makers known as ‘Platform One’ based at Erwood Station Craft Centre near Builth Wells.
She has been inspired by the beauty of mid-Wales since childhood, and three years teaching in Slough only served to heighten her appreciation. She takes great pleasure in watching nature and the weather. Over recent years animals in the landscape have also featured in her work. Many of the villages of Breconshire and Radnorshire have been photgraphed by Ruth.
Ruth can often be seen walking the hills of mid-Wales in search of those elusive changes in the lighting and the stunning seasonal variations in the sweeping landscape and river valleys that make the area so visually exciting.
At the moment Ruth Hargest's photographs are still being sold by Neuadd Bwll Framing. We will be transferring them to this web site within the next few weeks.
